We all are aware about the fact that WhatsApp is one of the fastest growing mobile chat app in market as it currently it has more than 700 million active users. Due to heavy competition in market most of the mobile chatting companies are launching their innovative services, like; before few days Hike messenger was launched voice calling facilityand Snapchat was launched Snapchat Discover to grab the market share, whereas; WhatsApp is making all his effort to be number one as before some days they have launched the web version for WhatsApp and now WhatsApp has launched voice-call feature, but in present it is only on invite basis. In present few users are receiving the invite for WhatsApp voice-calling feature.
This new feature is on invite-only basis, which means is that users will get the call through WhatsApp from those people who have the facility of this new updated feature and the other most important thing is that this new feature is only available for Android users, it means you need to get the updated 2.11.508 version to access the facility of apps. As per the report of GSM Arena, “One of the Reddit user known as pradnesh07 was able to get the invitation on his Nexus 5 smartphone, which was running on Android 5.0 Lollipop”. The user stated that “I am not able to find the way to send invites to other people, but only thing which I can make sure to other users that it will work in India for those who are using Android version of Lollipop 5.0.x on a Nexus 5, whereas; other users who don’t have this combo they will not get this facility”. As per images, user who has received that particular feature of voice calling will see the icon for it, which will appear in between the Chats and Contacts tabs. It seems that call interface feature is quite simple and similar to the Smartphone’s contact directory and this feature will keep the record of all recent WhatsApp calls as well.
As per the few screenshots of WhatsApp, it is clear that Androidworld.nl has leaked this voice-calling feature online, whereas recently WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp for Web users, so that they can see the mirror of mobile WhatsApp on web browser and can use them in same way as it is well known fact that currently WhatsApp for web feature is available for only Google Chrome and it is supporting the few mobile platforms such as; BlackBerry, Android and Windows Phone. However iOS users will not be able to access the WhatsApp for web feature.
Before some days Indian mobile chatting app Hike rolled out free voice calling service for 2G and 3G users through their app and soon after that WhatsApp’s roll out their voice calling service to grab the major market share. Last year revealed that app has more than 700 million active users and more than 30 billion messages are shared every day. It is expected that with voice-calling feature WhatsApp will engage the more users and numbers will rise further.
